Cost of Mailing Dilemma

Well I just came from the post office this morning shipping out a few orders. As usual the clerks advise that the cost of mailing has gone up again. It is starting to be quite expensive to ship charts out to you the customer.

As I am sure some of you have noticed if you look at the mailing label I have for over a year not charged you the customer the actual cost of shipping. So far eating the costs has been my way to keep everyone happy, but I would like to find an alternative so that my charts get to you the stitcher without costing an arm and a leg.

I therefore have been considering making my charts available by PDF file format as well as, by leaflet . The PDF file format would cost less than the leaflets since you are the ones printing the actual chart. As I have stated, this is at the moment my simplest way of combating the cost of postage, but need to consider all the ramifications in doing this.

Watch for more news regarding this in the very near future.

  1. I like the idea of pdf charts. What about Patterns Online? That might give you some protection with regards to coping.

  2. Making the PDF files is not a problem it just means setting up another button in the shopping cart.

  3. Excellent idea. It helps us as well because then we can save the designs on our computers and/or burn to CD and save storage room.

  4. I love the idea of a pdf format to order. You get the chart you want instantly and it saves everyone money. What more could a stitcher ask for...LOL.
